Viking E-1600A-EWP, A.D.A. Compliant Emergency/Elevator Phone w/ Enhanced Weather Protection
Viking Electronic's 1600 Series Emergency Phones are designed to provide quick and reliable access to emergency personnel via two way, handsfree voice communication over the public switched telephone network. The 1600 Series have braille labels and meet ADA requirements for elevator telephones. Compatible with standard C.O., Centrex, PABX lines and ringdown circuits.
The 1600 series operating temperature range is -15 F to 130 F and is weather resistant. They must be protected from direct exposure to rain.
The 1600 Series can be programmed on site or remotely from a Touch Tone phone. All parameters, phone, and location numbers are stored in non-volatile E2 memory. Batteries are not required for memory retention.
When the 'Push to Call' button is pressed, the 1600 Series phone seizes the line, and the built-in Touch Tone or rotary dialer calls the pre-programmed 1 to 20 digit number, The 'Call Connected' LED flashes during dialing. In the event that the line is busy or there is no answer, the unit can automatically dial a second number, When the call is answered, the distant party dials a Touch Tone '*'. This causes the 1600 phone to light the 'Call Connected' LED and send a field-programmed 1 to 20 digit Touch Tone number indicating the location of the emergency phone. The distant party can decode the location using a Viking VI-DM-4 digit monitor. Now available In safety yellow.
